Joseph Trosch

Second-year · Economics (Quantitative Financial Economics) + Business Administration, Kenan-Flagler · 4.0

Patient, direct help with economics, finance, quantitative courses, and writing.

Hey, I’m Joseph. I’m currently a student at UNC-Chapel Hill double majoring in Economics (on the Quantitative Financial Economics track) and Business Administration at Kenan-Flagler, with areas of emphasis in Finance and Operations Management.

My approach to tutoring isn’t about lecturing or throwing formulas at you. It’s about slowing things down, breaking down complex intuition until it actually makes sense to you, and building up your problem-solving confidence so you can handle exams on your own. I’m patient, direct, and focused on finding whatever explanation clicks best for how your brain works.

Outside of academics, I spend a lot of my time in the gym, playing basketball, and cheering for UNC. When I’m winding down, I’m usually reading philosophy, fiction, or manga. Some of my absolute favorite books are Blindness by José Saramago, The Stranger by Albert Camus, and Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami.

Whether you need help with quantitative subjects or effective writing composition, I am here to help! Prepping for an upcoming midterm? Untangling weekly problem sets? Or just want a consistent study rhythm to stay ahead? Feel free to reach out and let’s get to work!
